Diploma in Education Primary (DEP)

The Diploma in Education (Primary) (DEP) at Uganda Pentecostal University equips students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to become effective primary school teachers. The program covers teaching methods, curriculum implementation, classroom management, and child development.

 

Graduates are prepared to teach at primary school level, support learning initiatives, and contribute to educational development in schools and communities.

  • Credential: Diploma

  • Duration: Two Years

  • Mode of Delivery: Physical Classes; on Campus

  • Language of Delivery: English

Entry Requirements:

  1. Direct Entry: UCE or equivalent with at least five passes including English and Mathematics; or UACE with at least two principal passes, including a science or mathematics subject. Relevant subjects may include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Geography, and other sciences. General Paper is desirable.

  2. Diploma Entry: A relevant diploma in Science Education, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, or a related field from a recognized institution. Diploma holders may enter Year Two, subject to credit evaluation and faculty approval.

  3. Mature Age Entry: Applicants 25 years or older with UCE or equivalent, including passes in English and Mathematics. Admission requires passing the Mature Age Entry Examination as per NCHE guidelines.
