RTD JUSTICE DR. PATRICK TABARO
CHAIRMAN | BOARD
Justice Dr. Patrick Tabaro served in the Judiciary of Uganda for over 36 years, beginning his career as a magistrate in 1976 and rising to the ranks of Constitutional Court Judge and Acting Principal Judge. During his judicial tenure, he chaired several high-profile commissions of inquiry, including investigations into major public projects and judicial discipline matters.
Beyond practice, Justice Tabaro chairs the University Council of Marcus Garvey Pan African University, served as Chairperson of the Makerere University Staff Appeals Tribunal, and is Chairman of the Board at Uganda Pentecostal University.

DR. ARTHUR BAINOMUGISHA
VICE-CHAIRMAN | BOARD
Dr. Arthur Bainomugisha is a Ugandan expert in peace, security, and governance and serves as the Executive Director of ACODE, a leading public policy think tank. He is a former lecturer at Makerere University and a Senior Teaching Fellow at Uganda Christian University, with wide experience in research, policy advice, and regional peace processes. He holds a PhD in Peace and Conflict Studies and has published extensively on governance and peacebuilding in Africa.

BRIAN MUTUNGI NTAMBIRWEKI
RESIDENT DIRECTOR | BOARD MEMBER
Mr. Brian Mutungi Ntambirweki is a Member of the Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU) Board and a seasoned executive with extensive experience in finance, leadership, and organizational management. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Statistics from Middlesex University, London, and a Master of Science in Finance and Investment from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
Mr. Mutungi Ntambirweki served as Chief Executive Officer of BrighterMonday Uganda from 2001 to 2024, where he provided long-term strategic leadership and drove organizational growth. He has also served as Commercial Director (2018–2020) and Marketing Director (2018–2019) at Nexus International University. Earlier, he contributed to UPU’s institutional development as Finance Director from 2012 to 2015.
As a member of the UPU Board, he brings strong financial oversight, strategic insight, and private-sector experience to support the University’s sustainability and growth.

HON. ALEX RUHINDA
BOARD MEMBER
Mr. Alex Ruhunda is a Member of the Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU) Board and a public leader with experience in governance, research, communications, and public service. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and a Master’s degree in Gender Studies from Makerere University.
He currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Fort Portal Municipality and is the Chairman of the Kabarole Research and Resource Centre. Mr. Ruhunda has previously served as Chairperson of RANNET and as Chairman of the Uganda Governance Monitoring Platform. He is also the Managing Director of DAJ Communications Ltd.
As a Member of the UPU Board, Mr. Ruhunda contributes valuable insight in governance, policy, research, and public engagement in support of the University’s mission and development.

IRENE KWESIGA
BOARD MEMBER
Ms. Irene Kwesiga is a Member of the Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU) Board and a legal and governance professional with over 15 years of experience in legal practice, procurement, and community leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Makerere University and a Master of Science in Procurement Management from the University of Salford, Greater Manchester.
She began her career as a Legal Assistant at Kintu, Egonda & Company Advocates (1994–1995) and has since served in various leadership and governance roles. These include Chairperson of the Election Committee at Harare International School (2000–2008), Chairperson for Fostering Community Engagement within the Uganda Community in Harare (2014), and Committee Member of ADWIG and DSA (2009–2014). Ms. Kwesiga has also served as a Board Member of Makerere Garden Courts since 2006 and currently serves as a Board Member of Uganda Pentecostal University. She brings strong expertise in legal oversight, procurement management, and community engagement to the UPU Board.
