Diploma in Journalism and Communication
The Diploma in Journalism and Communication provides foundational skills in news writing, media production, public relations, photography, and digital communication. The programme blends classroom instruction with practical training in media labs and field assignments, giving students hands-on experience in modern communication tools and techniques.
Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles in journalism, broadcasting, content creation, public relations, and media support, and can progress into the Bachelor of Journalism and Communication for advanced study and career growth.

Direct Entry

Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or its equivalent, with at least five passes including English and Mathematics.

Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) with at least two principal passes obtained at the same sitting.

Essential subjects may include: Economics, Entrepreneurship, Mathematics, Geography, Literature, Computer Studies, and other business-related subjects.

General Paper is desirable.
Diploma Entry

A relevant Diploma in Journalism or any related field from a recognized institution.

Diploma holders may be admitted to Year Two of the DJR programme, subject to credit evaluation.
Mature Age Entry

Applicants aged 25 years and above with UCE or its equivalent may be admitted after passing the Mature Age Entry Examination, as per NCHE guidelines.
